Loop Technology US Inc. to Showcase Breakthrough Composite Manufacturing Technology with Zünd America at CAMX 2026

Loop Technology US Inc., the newly established North American subsidiary of the Loop Group, will co-exhibit with Zünd America at CAMX 2026 on Booth L18. The company will be on the Booth from September 22nd to 24th 2026, to talk about its revolutionary FibreLINE high-rate composite preforming system and its seamless integration with Zünd’s Aero Q-Line digital cutting technology.

The recently opened Loop Technology US Inc. is headquartered in Seattle, Washington. This new entity provides U.S. customers with direct access to the full portfolio of Loop Technology solutions, including FibreLINE automated preforming systems.

A New Benchmark for Composite Manufacturing Efficiency

At the CAMX 2026 demonstration visitors can learn about the novel, highly efficient approach to composite manufacturing that combines Loop Technology’s FibreLINE with Zünd’s Aero Q-Line.

FibreLINE systems deliver ultra-high-rate preforming for the manufacture of composite structures, transforming the efficiency with which parts and components can be produced. The technology is applicable across a wide range of composites applications, including aerostructures such as wings, empennage, nacelles, flaps and slats, as well as drones and wind turbine blades.

The Zünd Aero Q-Line is engineered to redefine large-format composite cutting by combining aerospace-grade precision with high-throughput automation. Designed to work seamlessly with FibreLINE, the Aero Q-Line uses high-precision linear drives exclusively – no belts or gears, only pure electromechanical motion. It delivers unmatched cutting speed and accuracy while significantly reducing the potential for stray fibres. The system can cut an entire ply (up to 21.4 m) in a single pass, eliminating the positional and dimensional errors common with conventional incremental cutters.

FibreFORM, a core constituent of the wider FibreLINE system, is a pick-and-place end effector that automates the layup of carbon fibre plies, precisely forming them during transfer from the cutting table to the mould. Together, FibreLINE and the Aero Q-Line enable faster processing of large-format composite materials with breakthrough accuracy and full process traceability, setting a new benchmark for efficiency and performance. The combined solution is set to transform composite manufacturing primarily in aerospace but also for wind energy, defence, automotive and marine applications.

FibreLINE Technology Across Multiple Sites

Loop Technology has installed different configurations of FibreLINE at leading research and development facilities:

  • AdAPT facility (Loop Technology Centre, Dorchester, UK) – the company’s internal R&D and demonstration cell used for continuous development and customer trials.
  • NCC, Bristol, UK — the Ultra High-Rate Composite Deposition system for dry carbon fibre fabric preforming. This FibreLINE configuration can process components up to 20 m × 5 m × 1.5 m and has achieved deposition rates in excess of 350 kg per hour in development trials.
  • COMPASS facility, University of Sheffield AMRC — part of the Boeing-led Isothermic High-Rate Sustainable Structures (IHSS) project, the largest global research programme of its kind. The project aims to reduce composite aerostructure component process time from approximately 40 hours to 4 hours while achieving Technology Readiness Level 6. The FibreLINE installation at COMPASS comprises five Loop Technology end effectors (two FibreFORM systems, one FibreEYE system, and two bespoke systems for part assembly and movement) integrated with five FANUC M-2000 Series robots, including three of the world’s largest industrial robots (the 1700L model weighing 12.5 tonnes). The facility also features two Zünd cutting tables measuring 21.4 metres in length that cut entire plies in a single operation without indexing the material.
  • North America – a FibreLINE system is installed in the region.

Meet the Team at CAMX 2026

Visitors to Booth L18 will be able to discuss FibreLINE technology in detail with Matt Hardman, Global Head of Sales, and the Loop Technology US Inc. team. Zünd America will demonstrate a live Zünd G3 L-2500 cutting table, illustrating the integrated cutting, nesting and kitting workflows that feed seamlessly into FibreLINE preforming.
