The recent opening of our Loop Technology Sheffield Office marks an exciting new chapter, as we expand further across the UK. It is a welcome addition alongside Loop Technology HQ in Dorchester, Dorset and an additional office in Bristol.
This new site provides a strategic base in South Yorkshire, with Sheffield City Centre minutes away, and major cities such as Manchester, Leeds and Nottingham nearby.
As an industrial automation and robotics specialist, Loop Technology are excited by the amount of opportunities for advanced manufacturing in the region, the strong pool of talented engineers, with both the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University in the area.
Loop Technology CEO, Alun Reece, stated about the opening of the new Sheffield facility:
“Due to a big upswing in orders, Loop Technology had to execute a rapid expansion plan. Several sites were considered but the standout was the Advanced Manufacturing Park. With modern, energy efficient factory space ready for occupation and abundant local talent the Sheffield / Rotherham conurbation provided everything we were looking for. And I’m pleased to say its been everything we were hoping it would be. We’re building a great, highly skilled team of people there and I’m excited to see how we continue to develop the facility in the coming years.”
Loop Technology Sheffield is a 1277 sqm facility, just a few minutes away from the AMRC and the new COMPASS facility. It provides an excellent location, as we continue to progress on the Isothermic High Rate Sustainable Structures project, with Boeing, Spirit AeroSystems and the AMRC. We currently have three FANUC M-2000iA robots at Loop Technology Sheffield, that will form a part of the cutting edge automated composite manufacturing technology that will be installed in the COMPASS (Composites at Speed and Scale) facility.
