Collaborative robot improves annealing process
We’ve built numerous robotic cells but this may be the perfect example when it comes to showcasing the possibilities of automation. This cell was developed for a manufacturing facility to semi-automate their annealing process. An induction heating head was integrated with a hand guided robot to anneal pipes of all shapes and sizes. It replaced a hazardous and labour-intensive process which resulted in saved man hours and a significant improvement in the quality and consistency of the annealed pipes. Intelligent 3D Labelling Systems
We’re currently working on a new overlabelling cell for the placement of labels on irregular shapes with variable sizes. This fast and accurate labelling system will be capable of processing up to 2,400 parts/hour utilising two KUKA Agilus KR6 robots. It uses 3D imaging to analyse the product and its barcode in real time in order to print the corresponding label and calculate the label placement location without slowing down the process. |
