Excerpts from July Newsletter – Laser Cleaning Applications
Our July newsletter featured the first in a new series about automated laser cleaning and its wide range of applications. We delved into the benefits of using this technology for before and after welding and bonding.
Compared to conventional surface cleaning methods like media blasting that often damage the underlying part, automated laser cleaning provides a level of accuracy that ensures the contaminants are fully removed but the substrate remains intact. Traditional approaches can lead to micro abrasions and stress points that mean weaker welded joints and a reduced lifecycle for the bonded component.
More M-2000iA’s Delivered
The momentum continues with another delivery, this time of 5 FANUC M-2000iA series robots – 3 1700L’s, a 1200L and 900L model. These robots are the strongest six axis robots available in the world, ideal for processing very large parts and workpieces. They will eventually go to the AMRC’s innovation facility as part of the IHSS project to accelerate composite aerospace manufacturing. Check out the footage of the 1700L arriving!
