Joining forces with Third Dimension
This month, we are excited to announce several new partnerships.
The first is with Third Dimension – leaders in dimensional metrology innovation for manufacturing. The company specialise in non-contact, optical profile measurement systems.
The partnership allows us to deliver advanced robot 2D profile measurement solutions for quality and process control applications in high value manufacturing industries.
What can we measure and inspect?
Suitable applications include 2D profiles typical of extrusions, welds, seals, edge breaks and gap and flush applications, to name a few. This proven technology is used in traditional QC and process control to provide fast, accurate, repeatable, and traceable measurements and inspections.
Why use our robotic measurement system?
It eliminates human error from your quality control process, and frees-up skilled technicians to provide significant cost-savings. We also have powerful tools for process control and Industry 4.0 applications.
Example solution: Automated inline measurements on a conveyor
Our combined expertise allows us to deploy systems that integrate with a conveyor system that transports products in variable positions, without the need for fixtures. By using a 3D imaging scanner and roller encoder on the conveyor, we can calculate the real-time position of products while in motion.
This is coupled with one or more robots equipped with a non-contact measurement head. The robot adapts to the position of each product as they come down the line. The system is simple to program with our offline editing software. It allows you to import the CAD model of your product, and creates recipes that are automatically verified and optimised.

New partnership with AMRC
Loop Technology have joined the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) as a Tier Two member. After working on multiple projects together over the past 6 years, including DACS, the robotic ‘Distributed Automation Cutting System’, we are pleased to formalise the relationship.
Loop Technology are now the UK distributor of Robotmaster
Robotmaster is an offline CAD/CAM programming software to generate CNC paths for robots. It is suitable for many processes, including trimming, cutting, welding, spraying, laser cleaning, and more.
Loop Technology can provide training and support for those wanting to get the most out of their automation, without the need for robotic expertise.
Christmas jumpers and fun for Save the Children
Loop Technology have been getting festive with their annual Christmas jumper day! This year the team raised £136.38 for Save The Children by not only wearing their festive clothes, but also partaking in some fun activities such as the raffle, lucky dip and bake sale!
