Loop Technology invited students from Cheselbourne Village School to visit their Technology Centre on the 6th April 2022. The students had the rare opportunity to get up close and personal with a 4.5 metre tall, 5 tonne industrial robot.
The students, aged between 7 to 9 years old, learned about industrial robots and how they were different from the robots on TV. This was followed by a tour of the workshop to see some of Loop Technology’s largest robots. “The pupils were buzzing with excitement as the robots were switched on to show everything that they do” says Mr Perry, Headteacher at Cheselbourne Village School.
“It was such a pleasure to have them visit us” says Samantha Reece, Marketing Director at Loop Technology. “Automation is going to provide a lot of opportunities in the future and it’s so important to get young minds interested and engaged early on, and Loop Technology are delighted to be able to open its doors to a local school.”
Mr Perry continues “Not only did the school link up to see them first hand, but they also took dedicated time to provide creative artwork to be displayed at the centre. The children were truly inspired to have had this experience.” Before the visit, Loop Technology had asked the school to help with a special project to draw their own industrial robots.
These are on display on the Loop Technology Centre windows, put up as part of British Science Week 2022. “The students did such a fabulous job. We are all very impressed at the creativity and thought which has gone into creating their robots” says Samantha Reece.
