Case Study: Engine Marker inspection system for automotive manufacturer
A control system was required for a custom machine being developed to mark the vehicle identification number on engines as they enter the production line. The machine required the control of five axis designed to position the pin stamp marker in close proximity to the engine block for the purposes of marking.
Loop provided a complete control cabinet featuring a custom software solution featuring a touch screen interface. The configurability of the solution meant that engineers could generate 'recipe' data for positioning engines of different types, future proofing the system against changes in engine design. The machine was fully integrated into the production line receiving live vehicle data from the production control system, leaving the operator with a simple push button operation.
